We’re not going to lie….losing a bandmate is a tough thing to handle. Our dear friend Jeremy has announced his departure from the group, albeit sticking around as a ringer when we need a helping hand. But, this bit of sad news for the group means good news for other singers out there – we have an opportunity for you! Your opportunity could start off with something like:
“Amanda-
Hi! Are you guys still having auditions? I’m interested in getting some more information. Also, when do you rehearse?
If it’s still open, then I can write back with some more details about my experience and we can set something up.
Thanks!
Charlie”
Or maybe something more like:
I was forwarded your message from a member of the a cappella group I was in during college (Va Tech’s Juxtaposition), saying you’re looking for a vocal percussionist. I’d like to think I have a pretty solid VP sound, plus I can sing in the bari-tenor range and do solos. I don’t know when you guys were planning on doing auditions, but I live in Old Town Alexandria and can get around in the area via metro or car easily. Let me know if you’re still looking. Thanks!

Euphonism is now seeking a new singer, of the male variety. Some things that we look for in potential new members:
- Confident solo voice
- Ability to confidently hold your own on background parts and blend appropriately
- Ability to learn music quickly and retain a large repertoire
- Commitment to twice weekly rehearsals, frequent performances and active participation in group discussion/activities
- A comfortable and confident stage persona
- Amiable and motivated
- Ability to laugh at one’s self
- Additional a cappella-related skills a plus: vocal percussion, arranging, songwriting, etc…
Send us your own first message and it could go from:
“To whom it may concern,
My name is Johanna Horn and I am interested in joining an acapella ensemble. I am a Board Certified Music Therapist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA and I am a classically trained vocalist with a serious love for contemporary and acapella music.
I am interested in auditioning for your ensemble. If you could get back to me at your earliest convenience regarding audition times and information, that would be great.
Thank you!
Johanna”

“Re: Welcome to Euphonism!!
Hi Amanda,
Absolutely!!! Thank you so much! I am so unbelievably thankful for this opportunity and cannot wait to rehearse on Sunday. I’m so excited! (I don’t think I could possibly add anymore exclamation marks)
Have a great night and I’ll see you Sunday.
Thank you!
Johanna”
For one person, this could be the start of an amazing ride with 6 amazing people who just happen to love singing together.
